Girls & Boys Junior 8's

This grade is a training grade to develop the ability of new players or players emerging from the Minis Grade. It is suitable for first-season players and Year 3 to 5 pupils. No children who are Year 6 and above are permitted to play under any circumstances.

This is a training grade and there will be a full range of ability to be seen. Players in this grade may be new to hockey, or will have experienced one or more season in the Minis.

8 players (on the field at any one time), kitted goalkeeper is optional but not encouraged. Rolling substitutions are permitted.

Games are played on artificial surfaces which are approximately one-half of a full-sized turf, although probably somewhat smaller. These surfaces are often multi-purpose spaces. It may be necessary to play games on grass if sufficient turf is not available.

Games are 2 x 18 minute halves with a 2-minute half-time, and a 2 minute changeover between games.
